MSU quarterbacks get reps they need in scrimmage

August 9, 2014

The quarterbacks on the Mississippi State roster are doing their part this preseason of pushing each other to get better.
Situations like Saturday's scrimmage helped that process along.
With Dak Prescott, Damian Williams, Nick Fitzgerald, Elijah Staley and Josiah Phillips, there are no shortage of signal callers with the Bulldogs.
"There are a ton of reps to go around right now, so those guys have gotten multiple opportunities to go out, perform and show what they can do," MSU quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson said. "That hasn't been an issue for us at all."
Johnson, who is in his first season on the staff of head coach Dan Mullen, said the biggest thing that will make the Bulldog quarterbacks successful is being "able to process information."
Scrimmages allow them to do that in a competitive situation.
