QUINN GETS LIFE IN PRISON - Defendant convicted of capital murder

July 31, 2014

Gray’s family members weep in the courtroom after the jury delivered its verdict.

Mississippi 16th Circuit Judge Lee Howard sentenced 53-year-old Archie Quinn to life in prison without parole after an Oktibbeha County Circuit Court jury convicted Quinn of capital murder Wednesday afternoon.

The jury deliberated for about 45 minutes before finding Quinn guilty of murdering 35-year-old Stacy Gray in September 2008. At a 2013 hearing, Howard noted Quinn suffered mental retardation prior to his 18th birthday, which precluded him from the death penalty.
