Mississippi Sports HoF class strong

July 26, 2014

Williams

Former Ole Miss and New Orleans Saint quarterback Archie Manning was impressed with the 2014 Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame class.
There were six individuals inducted into the Hall of Fame on Friday and Manning was the first to point out how great the class was.
"This is a strong, strong Hall of Fame Class," Manning said. "I've been to a lot of them."
The class featured former Mississippi State basketball coach Richard Williams, former Ole Miss and New Orleans Saint running back Deuce McAllister, the late Steve "Air" McNair, Olympic gold medalist Ruthie Bolton, Ole Miss running back Doug Cunningham and track star Calvin Smith.
Williams will always be remembered as the coach that led the Bulldogs to the 1996 Final Four, which was the first and only appearance in the great event for MSU.
