There are many factors that bring a sense of excitement when it comes to participation in state championship games.
With the thrill of knowing your team has survived a grueling regular season and passed through the gauntlet that is the postseason, it provides fulfillment that can't be beat, but there is one more element that can enhance that excitement.
The thought of playing for a state title at a stadium that can seat up to 50,000 people can add a little bit of incentive also.
“Most are happy to be playing for a state championship, but if you have a choice, you want to play at a nice venue,” Eupora coach Junior Graham said. “I will play in someone’s backyard to play for a championship, but if I have a choice between the backyard and Mississippi State or the University of Mississippi, then I want to play there.”
