Mississippi Sen. and former U.S. Senate candidate Chris McDaniel has filed a lawsuit against Oktibbeha County Circuit Clerk Glenn Hamilton.

The McDaniel campaign filed a petition for mandamus against Hamilton in an attempt force him to allow campaign representatives to view poll books from the June 24 Republican primary runoff in which McDaniel fell to incumbent U.S. Senator Thad Cochran. Cochran won the contest by 7,667 votes out of the 382,197 cast across the state.
