James F. "Jimmy" Stevens

Funeral services for James F. "Jimmy" Stevens will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. 
Mr. Stevens died Monday, July 14, 2014, at the State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.  He was 96.  A Forest native, he was a WWII Navy veteran.  Mr. Stevens was an M.S.U. graduate and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Starkville.  He was a New York Life Insurance salesman for many years.
Jimmy's wife, Katheryn, preceded him in death.  Survivors include his daughter, Karen Lasik (John) of Ellensburg, WA; his son, W.F. Stevens (Charlotte) of Benton, MS; six grandchildren-Daniel, Amanda, Jennifer (Matt) Thompson, and Michael Lasik; Jason Owen (Ashley), Rick Stevens (Alison); great grandchildren Emma Claire, Levi, and Jace; brother, Hamilton Stevens of Forest, MS; sister, Charlotte Stevens Israel of Lancaster, TX; brother, Reggie (Carolyn) Stevens of Piqua, Ohio; and numerous friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Starkville, American Red Cross, MS State Veterans Home in Kosciusko or your favorite charity.
