Stennis associate director analyzes Senate runoff votes

When the results came in for Mississippi’s Republican primary runoff between incumbent U.S. Senator Thad Cochran and State Sen. Chris McDaniel (R-Ellisville), some celebrated, some raised questions, and Dallas Breen was making maps.

Breen, associate director of Mississippi State University’s Stennis Institute of Government and Community Development, compared vote totals by county in the runoff against the same totals in the primary election. Using this comparison, he built several variations on a map of Mississippi.
