One Starkville area all-star team has added the title of state champions to their resume and it was no easy, nor short, of a task to do so.
On average, baseball is not known to be a fast moving sport, but for a game to last four hours is almost unheard of, especially when that game involved 10-year-olds.
That scenario took place Monday evening as the Starkville All-Stars defeated Newton County 27-9 in the championship game of the Dizzy Dean South State Tournament that began at 6:20 p.m., and saw the final out come around 10:20 p.m.
