Necessity is the mother of unpacking

I’ve heard the saying: Necessity is the mother of invention. But it’s also the mother of unpacking your stuff.

After a two-day marathon of moving Saturday and Sunday, boxes are stacked 5- to 6-feet high in every room of our new house. That was fine, my wife and I decided, because we were still basking in the relief of getting the old house empty … finally. We didn’t have a time limit to unpack our stuff, so we would rest up and work on it a little at a time for as long as it took.
