Action has been steady for the Starkville 8-year-old All-Stars.
Over the last couple of weeks, the team has participated in two warm-up tournaments as they prepare to take part in this weekend’s Dizzy Dean State Tournament in West Point.
In both tournaments, Starkville came in second to a very strong Columbus team and in the most recent took their opponents right down to the wire.
“We have had two previous tournaments,” Starkville coach Brent Deweese said. “We finished second in both to Columbus. In the last one, we competed until the end and showed we could be competitive.”
