City looking at Cadence for SPD

Starkville’s Board of Aldermen set in motion a plan at its regular meeting Tuesday evening to explore purchasing the Cadence Bank main branch facility downtown as the future home of the city police department.

City Chief Administrative Officer Taylor Adams told aldermen during the meeting at City Hall that he had approached Cadence leadership and had begun informal talks about the possibility of the city acquiring the roughly 39,000 square-feet facility at the corner of Main and Jackson streets.
