Fans of the Southeastern Conference have always been passionate about their teams and the league their teams play in.
That passion caught Dish Network's eye and the television provider decided to jump on the bandwagon that is the SEC.
It was announced in early March that Dish was going to be the first television provider to carry the SEC Network nationwide when it launches on August 14.Â
"We've been absolutely thrilled to be the first and currently the only nationwide provider of the SEC Network," Dish senior vice president and chief marketing officer James Moorhead said. "We believe that the SEC has just an incredibly rabid fanbase. To better serve our existing customers, as well as to help us to continue to grow our business, we put the customer at the forefront of every decision we make, and so we had to have the SEC Network for our current customers and to help us to continue to grow."
