Chuck Friend has accomplished a great deal during his 35-year high school football coaching career.
Friend was able to reach the top twice during his time with Starkville High School as the Yellowjackets won state championships in 1994 and 1995.
It was moments like those that has led Friend get to the doorstep of the Mississippi Association of Coaches Hall of Fame.
On Friday, Friend will be inducted into the MAC Hall of Fame. The banquet takes place at the Hilton Hotel in Jackson at 6:30 p.m.
Friend doesn't brag on himself when he considers what being included in the MAC Hall of Fame means, but yet choses to reflect on all of those individuals that helped him get there.
"It means you've coached a good many years and you had a bunch of good players while you were coaching," Friend said. "It's an individual honor, but at the same time, there are a bunch of good guys and administrators that I've worked with for a number of years."
