Bat Commanders out-slugged by Golden Spikes
Bat Commanders of Choctaw County were not going to surrender their spot at the United States Speciality Sports Association 11 State Tournament without a fight.
After losing the lead to Golden Spikes, the Bat Commanders rallied to regain an 8-6 advantage before ultimately losing a 11-9 decision at the Starkville Sportsplex.
Bat Commanders jumped out to a 5-2 lead after two innings, but saw their opponent gain the upperhand at 6-5 in the third.
In the fourth frame, a ground out by pinch hitter Asa Lester helped Bat Commanders tie the game, then a RBI double by Justin Jenkins gave them a 7-6 lead. Landon Wells delivered a single to score another run.
Golden Spikes scored five times in the fifth inning to take control of the game at 11-8.
Bat Commanders was able to cross the plate one more time, but it was not enough.

The Highway 82 Sluggers also saw their time at the USSSA State 11 Tournament come to an end with a loss to Xtreme Hurricanes.

The Sluggers scored one run in the first inning and four more in the third, while Xtreme Hurricanes got a pair of runs in the first, three in the second and two in the fourth.
Quez Lane, Reeves Threadgill, Brian Threadgill, Cade Adkins and Will Liddell scored one run each for the Sluggers.
