Teams get break from the weather

June 19, 2014

Teams participating at the United States Sports Specialty Association 11 State Tournament on Thursday got a break with the weather in the afternoon.
A brief shower around the noon hour and lingering cloud cover with a breeze made the conditions pleasant at the Starkville Sportsplex.
"I thought it was going to rain again like it did (Wednesday), but it held off and it was nice and cool," Longhorns coach Keith Lawrence said. "It was good baseball weather."
The forecast had called for a heat index of near 100 degrees, but with the rain cooled air, that never happened.
