MABEN – The East Webster Wolverines packed a punch when it came to athletics last year.
"It was a great year," East Webster athletic director and football coach Doug Wilson said. "Every team competed and that is all we can ask of our kids. We are always in the hunt. It was just a great season where every game was enjoyed."
Football was one of those teams who was in it until the very end. After starting out at an impressive 6-0, the young Wolverine squad battled week in and week out to the "last whistle" of a "tough district" schedule.
"Football we started off real strong, (but) just didn’t finish quite like we wanted to," Wilson said. "Of course, we hit that tough district where every Friday night was a tough game. Still the kids competed to the last whistle and that is all we can ask of them."
