SPRD finishes up one league, starts another for adults

June 12, 2014

The Starkville Parks and Recreation Department is finishing up one softball league and anticipates the beginning of another.
After the girls softball league completes its regular season this week, end of the year tournament and All-Star competition, the staff at SPRD welcomes the adults to the field.
The start of the adult league season is scheduled for June 23 at the Starkville Sportsplex, but SPRD sports coordinator William Pochop said that date could be pushed back.
"Our youth league is going later into the summer," Pochop said. "The planned start is June 23. We have a couple of meetings before that, but hopefully it will stay the same. If not, we may need to push it back a few days.
