Mississippi State football has seen record sales in season tickets since coach Dan Mullen took over the program in 2009.
MSU hit a new high on Friday.
The MSU athletic department announced that it has set a new record for season ticket sales with 44,230 being sold to date. That beats the old mark of 44,212 in 2012.
Davis Wade Stadium has been in the process of being renovated to horseshoe the north end zone. It will increase the capacity to 61,337.
“It is an exciting time for our football program and Bulldog fans,” MSU athletic director Scott Stricklin said in a school release. “There is a lot of anticipation as we draw closer to the grand opening of the Davis Wade Stadium expansion. Fans still have an opportunity to purchase season tickets and help create the special environment we have here on gameday.”
