Mississippi State's season was full of highs and lows.
The Bulldogs were capable of beating anybody on any given day, but were also capable of losing to anyone on any given day. They showed that with wins over Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Alabama and losses to Holy Cross and Jacksonville State.Â
MSU didn't' have the best showing in non-conference games, but the 18 wins in the Southeastern Conference were impressive.
The Bulldogs entered the last weekend with a chance to finish in a tie for the SEC overall championship and win the SEC West.Â
MSU gave it a valiant try with two wins over Alabama, but couldn't win on the last day and didn't get help from Texas A&M, Auburn or Tennessee.
The Bulldogs then were one win away from going to another super regional, but couldn't overcome the hot-hitting Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette.Â
