MABEN – Throughout the years, catcher and pitcher tandems have consistently led to success.
Now you can add two more names to the list with East Webster's combination of Autumn Frost and Bailie Springfield.
The girls together certainly made things go well for the Lady Wolverines as they led them to a 30-2 record and a second Class 2A Fast Pitch State championship in as many years and because of their strong athleticism and leadership capabilities, the pair has been selected as Starkville Daily News’ Area Co-Players of the Year.
“There is a connection between me and Autumn,” Springfield said. “She knows if I am tense, how to calm me down. We can talk to each other. We both know how to handle each other.”
Frost echoes her teammate adding that the communication between them is particularly key when things might not be going perfect.
“We both know what is wrong and we will try to throw around it, but sometimes we have to go out, talk about it and say we have to get around this,” Frost said.
The pair combined are almost unstoppable, but each girl is impressive in their own right.
