Ceba Mae Shepherd Steed, 63 of Starkville, MS passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at her residence.
Visitation was Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services were Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sandra Brown officiating. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Steed was born October 6, 1950 in Lowndes County, MS to the late Gaylord and Lulline Moore Shepherd. She was a member of Artesia United Methodist Church and contributed to many charitable organizations. Mrs. Steed worked for the Social Security Administration for over 38 ½ years. She enjoyed her bowling league, being a homemaker and was a dog and cat lover.
Mrs. Steed is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ray Steed of Starkville, MS; sons-David (Lynda) Steed, Livingston, AL and Brian Steed, Starkville, MS; granddaughter- Cameron Steed; sisters-Linda Egger, Judy Ward, Jan Hill and Jeanie Bostick; brothers- Ron Stafford, Joey Stafford, Jeff Shepherd, John Pennington and  Darrell Shepherd.
Pallbearers were  Chuck Batts, John Jackson, Terry Whitten, Buddy Daniels, Tommy Carslile, Chad Peterson, Frank Porter and Tim Butler. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Abrams, Danny Carslile and Homer Beaty.
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS  39213.
