Five All-SEC from MSU: Collins, Mitchell, Lindgren, Pirtle, Heck recognized

Gavin Collins was splitting time with Zack Randolph at catcher when the season started for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
He took hold of the job midway through the season for the Bulldogs and never looked back.
"I don't want to take anything from Randolph, (because) he did a great job," Collins said. "I caught a couple of good games and really just tried to keep my focus level up. It worked out."
Collins' fantastic freshman season was recognized by the Southeastern Conference coaches was he was selected to the All-SEC Freshman Team on Tuesday. He is the first MSU catcher to make the All-Freshman Team. 
The Lake Forest, Calif., native is second on the team with a .325 batting average.
"I didn't want to expect anything," Collins said of coming out of high school. "I just wanted to come in, work and learn as much as I could my freshman year. I've gotten a really good chance to learn, grow and it's been awesome."
