HOOVER, Ala. – The Mississippi State Bulldogs lived on the edge in Tuesday's opener of the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
The Bulldogs dominated their second game.
No. 5 seed MSU demolished No. 4 seed South Carolina 12-0 in seven innings at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.
The Bulldogs (37-20) will face No. 9 seed Kentucky in tonight's last game in a winner's bracket game. The winner of that game will go immediately to Saturday's single-elimination semifinal.
MSU has been run-ruled in the SEC Tournament, but this was the first time that it did the run-ruling.Â
The Bulldogs brought the offense with 14 hits and scored all their runs in the second, third and fourth.Â
“We swung the bats well (Wednesday night),” MSU head coach John Cohen said. “South Carolina is really good. They will come back out and compete (today). We just had a lot of really good fortune (Wednesday night). I thought we had some really good offensive at-bats and had a good night at the plate.”
