SHS completes bowling tryouts, sets roster

May 19, 2014

The Starkville High School bowling team enjoyed a nice response to tryouts and head coach Jim Philamlee has put together what he considers a very solid roster for next season.
Included in that list is Jessica Rowe, who just won first place in the Singles Handicapped Division 9: Girls Major of 49th Mississippi State Youth Bowling Tournament, and Tyler Dawkins, who was nominated as a PopStar for the Yellowjackets.
It's that type of recognition that brings added exposure to the SHS program and what Philamlee is trying to establish.
"This is the first time we've had anybody nominated PopStar," Philamlee said.
