Coach Jamie Mitchell's offense will have some new faces on the field and on the sideline next season.Â
The Starkville Yellowjackets will have New Hope transfer Brady Davis starting at quarterback and a new offensive coordinator in David Boykin.
The Yellowjackets don't start the 2014 season until August, but got a glimpse at what might happen this fall with spring drills. They capped off the spring camp with a 35-13 take down of Brandon at Davis Wade Stadium Thursday night.
"It's scary to think about where it could go," Mitchell said. "I stood over there in amazement (Thursday) at some of the things he (Davis) did. He made some mistakes, but he's a pretty good player.
"That's the whole deal for us. (It's) getting (Davis) comfortable in our system. He has a long way to go. The further he goes, (and) the more he learns, you're going to see an unbelievable player develop."Â
The Jacket offense picked up 19 first downs and had 367 yards of total offense. Davis completed 15-of-28 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns.
