Winkfield lends defensive talent to the Bulldogs

An offensive player in baseball or softball likes the thrill of hitting a home run or getting a game-winning hit.
For Mississippi State softball shortstop Kayla Winkfield, the ability to make a play on defense has been just as exciting.
"Most people say offense is their favorite part of softball, but defensive is probably my favorite part," Winkfield said. "You have to be able to run this way, run this way and dive for softballs. That's so fun for me. Defense is my main tool."
