East Webster blanks Mantachie, advances

MANTACHIE – Chase Keller had a pair of hits to lead the East Webster Wolverines to a 4-0 victory over Mantachie on the road Monday in the Class 2A playoffs.
Keller singled in the fifth and seventh innings.
East Webster's Brock Flemmings kept Mantachie off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out three.
The Wolverines stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring one run.
East Webster scored one run in each of the third, fifth and sixth. In the third, the Wolverines scored on a passed ball, bringing home Miller Hancock.
After sweeping the third round series in two games, East Webster improved its overall record to 22-8 and waits for the winner of the Eupora-Baldwyn series for the North finals.
