The Mississippi State softball program is off to one of its best starts in school history this year.
MSU found out Sunday night the season has been extended a little bit farther.
The Bulldogs (38-19) will be traveling to Lafayette, La., where they will face Texas (33-21) in the opening round of NCAA regional competition.
“We can play any team in the nation,” MSU senior pitcher Allison Owen said recently. “We can put up a fight for any team that comes our way. We just have to focus on us and on the process.”
This season’s process has taken the Bulldogs from a 15-0 start as well as through a tough Southeastern Conference gauntlet that saw the team take series from top ranked teams like Alabama and Tennessee in route to earning a No. 31 RPI.
