MABEN - Just as it has all postseason, East Webster took the Class 2A North Championship series in only two games.
Game one came down to just one run, but on Saturday, the Lady Wolverines picked a more convincing 7-0 victory over visiting Hatley.
“We scored early to get momentum on our side,” East Webster coach Lee Berryhill said. “We held on to that momentum and added two more in the fourth. Hatley kept fighting as they had runners throughout the game. They just could never get the big hit so give our defense and our pitching credit to get the win.”
After allowing the first two Lady Tigers to reach base, the Lady Wolverines kicked up their defense a notch to get out of the first inning unscathed.
