The life of the student-athlete is not easy.
Consider the one of Mississippi State senior softball player Jessica Offutt.
Offutt spends much of her time in the outfield for the Bulldogs, but she has also had a busy schedule of exams worked around a key road series at LSU and the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
It's all a part of the plan as far as Offutt is concerned.
"I make sure I look at everything a week ahead, put it on my planner and make sure I have everything I need to have," Offutt said. "I like to have things planned out ahead of time. That helps fitting everything in. If I see something during the week that I need to work around, I've looked at it and talked to people. You talk to your teachers. Communication is key in a lot of aspects. It's a really big deal."
