Wolverines work out kinks in home victory

April 24, 2014

MABEN – East Webster baseball coach Wes Johnson said his team saw exactly what it needed to see against the French Camp Panthers on Thursday afternoon.
During a 19-5 victory by the Wolverines, Johnson was wanting to take the field one more time for competition prior to the Class 2A playoffs next week.
“We got to see live pitching and that is what we need,” Johnson said. “To me, there is no substitute to playing games for getting better. The more games you play, the better they get. You can come out here and take batting practice all day, but live baseball games are where you get better. I wish we could play 50.”
