Coach Jody Britt may be new to Starkville Academy, but it did not take him long to see he had a special pair of seniors on this year’s baseball team.
“They have both done well this year,” Britt said. “They have been two of those that have worked as hard as they possibly could. They have been ready whenever needed. They haven’t been selfish which was big with a younger team. I wish I had them for more than one year.”
While Josh Holtcamp and Paxton Peay may only get to be under Britt’s tenure for one season, the pair have enjoyed multiple strong showings by Starkville Academy. Highlighting both guys time with the Volunteers was an appearance in the state championship game their sophomore year as well as back-to-back division titles.
