Spring practice will present a new beginning for quarterback Brady Davis.
After transferring from New Hope, Davis will hit the practice field for the first time with the Starkville Yellowjackets on Monday.
Starkville coach Jamie Mitchell knows it will be an adjustment for Davis, but said the signal caller appears anxious to go to work.
"It's going to be a big learning curve for him, but I don't know if I've ever seen a kid more excited and ready to get started than he is," Mitchell said. "He's biting nails right now and I love that in him. He's so eager to get out there with his new teammates and he's been everything we've asked him to be."
In the days since he joined the Jackets, Davis has been getting used to his new surroundings and teammates.
He is excited about the opportunity that comes with the opening of spring drills.
"I'm 100 percent comfortable and it feels like I've been here a long time already," Davis said. "I've been trying to learn the offense and get reps with the players around me. I can't wait until Monday."
