Derrick Armstrong didn't know what his senior year at Mississippi State was going to offer.
He played in just 39 games and drew 16 starts as the Bulldogs made it all the way to the College World Series in his junior season.
The Bulldog outfielder entered this season with the mindset of gaining more playing time, but with several outfielders vying for three spots, it was going to be tough.
"I felt good," Armstrong said. "You just have to have a good mindset and if your number's called, you always got to be ready. I've just been ready since my number's been called.
"That's pretty much everybody's goal when they play. I was trying to do whatever I could to help the team win."
