Mississippi State broke another baseball attendance record on Sunday afternoon.
After setting the all-time single game mark for an on-campus game when 15,586 came to watch Saturday's 6-5 victory over the Ole Miss Rebels, the Bulldogs set the mark for a three-game series when 10,371 more saw the Rebels win 12-2 at Dudy Noble Field.
The third-straight crowd of 10,000 or more helped State get a total of 39,181 in the trio of outings against Ole Miss, which broke the mark for a three-game series. The old record was the 39,679 that saw the Auburn series on Super Bulldog Weekend last year.
MSU baseball coach John Cohen expressed how important the support of the fans was on Saturday.
"This is not only important for our athletic department and our baseball program, but it's important for our whole university," Cohen said. "This is like the homecoming in the spring. This is something our kids will never forget."
On Friday, the largest Friday night gathering in NCAA history of 13,224 saw the opener between the Bulldogs and the Rebels.
MSU has now had nine crowds of 13,000 or more at home in its history.
During this season so far, the Bulldogs have played in front of 10,000 or more fans at home four times.
