Mississippi State senior outfielder Jessica Offutt has taken the advice of the softball coaching staff and it is beginning to pay off.
In the last two games for the Bulldogs, Offutt has gone 5-of-7 at the plate for a batting average of .714. She has six hits in the last 10 at-bats over a three-game stretch to bat .600.
MSU coach Vann Stuedeman and the assistants have told the players to keep the everything simple, have fun and play the game they love.
"I've really embraced that and the rest of the team has as well," Offutt said. "That's what we're doing and when you make it that simple, it becomes a lot easier. I tend to put a lot of pressure on myself and think do I have to do this now or do that now? You can't play like that."
