Winona takes 8-1 victory over Starkville in softball

April 10, 2014

While most of the game featured strong pitching and quick outs, a six-run inning by the Winona Lady Tigers made all the difference as they defeated Starkville Lady Yellowjackets 8-1 on Thursday.
“Their pitcher moves the ball well and has a lot of speed,” Starkville coach Wendy Jolly said. “We struggled on offense, but Callie (Wells) our pitcher pitched a really great game which kept us in it. We held them 1-0 until top of sixth, then a few errors hurt us in the end.”
