State looks to a big week

April 6, 2014

Super Bulldog Weekend will be an important one for coach Vann Stuedeman and the Mississippi State softball team.
When the Bulldogs take on the Alabama Crimson Tide Friday, Saturday and Sunday, not only will Stuedeman go against a program where she spent 2000-11 as an assistant coach, but it will be the next series in a long line of tough and important Southeastern Conference challenges.
It would be easy for MSU to look ahead to Alabama, but Stuedeman is not having any of that right now.
The Bulldogs must first make a business trip into the state of Alabama on Wednesday to take on a strong South Alabama squad in Mobile.
The Jaguars have a 30-5 record at home and have not lost at home this season in 12 dates.
South Alabama's pitching staff is anchored by Hannah Campbell (12-2, 0.57 ERA) and Farish Beard (16-3, 0.64).
