State, Missouri split twinbill

April 5, 2014

The Mississippi State Bulldogs started out Saturday well against one of the top 20 ranked softball teams in the nation.
With rain in the forecast for the area today, MSU and the the 16th-ranked Missouri Tigers played a doubleheader in Starkville.
The Bulldogs were impressive in the first game winning 9-3 before the Tigers came back to take the nightcap 8-1 at the MSU Softball Stadium.
Even though the Bulldogs were not able to get the sweep Saturday and lost the series 2-1, coach Vann Stuedeman was happy to see her team fight to salvage a win.
