Starkville loses 6-0 decision at Columbus

April 6, 2014

COLUMBUS – The Starkville Lady Yellowjackets were more competitive in their second game of the week with the Columbus Falcons.
Even though the Jackets were still on the wrong end of a 6-0 score against the Falcons on Saturday afternoon, it was much better than suffering the 13-0 defeat of Tuesday night.
Starkville coach Travis Garner thought the result of the latest meeting with Columbus could have been different if things could have gone much better for the visiting Jackets.
“We had chances those first two innings and just couldn’t get the key hit,” Garner said. “They are good. They got senior pitching and in this game, pitching takes you a long way.”
