Damian Williams was thrown into the fire at times last season.
The Mississippi State sophomore quarterback wasn't expected to play and a redshirt looked likely.
The Bulldogs had two injuries at quarterback that opened the door for the Metairie, La., native.
That experience has helped him during spring drills.
"It's great to get the respect from the guys, and really just be able to take over the huddle and run it like I'm supposed to," Williams said.
