New league being organized

March 28, 2014

There will be a new youth basketball league coming to Starkville in June.
The Mississippi Basketball Athletes league, organized by Fred Tate, will give the youth of the community another opportunity to participate in the game.
As a spinoff from the Starkville Area Youth league, Mississippi Basketball Athletes will hold games at the Starkville Sportsplex's Travis Outlaw Center on Friday and Saturday nights.
The league will continue through the summer until school starts in August.
"The league will be based off SAY, but the difference will be there will be NBA names on the jerseys and the majority of the NBA names will be on the jerseys," Tate said.
The registration fee is $30 with on-site registration taking place at 5:30 p.m. the next three Mondays at the Travis Outlaw Center.
