Former Starkville High distant runner Joseph MacGown believes the opportunity to attend on scholarship and compete for the Savannah College of Art and Design cross country team "a perfect fit."
MacGown signed a letter of intent with the school on Sunday afternoon with family and friends by his side.
For the former Yellowjacket, the SCAD Bees was the perfect choice as the school provides not only the opportunity to compete collegiately, but also a chance to continue with his love of art.
“To me, this is the perfect opportunity,” Joseph’s dad Joe MacGown said. “He loves to run. He loves art. He loves music. He loves to write. I can’t think of a better solution.”
There is one more thing that Joseph desired when searching out the perfect college.
