Mississippi State head coach John Cohen decided to hold out one of his veteran players with the most experience during a three-game stretch.
The sixth-year Bulldog head coach sat senior outfielder C.T. Bradford against Michigan State, Eastern Illinois and South Alabama earlier this month.
Bradford was bothered by a minor hip injury, and Cohen was extra cautious with the Pace, Fla., native.
"I just wanted to make sure he was healthy because he's a different kind of player when he's not at 100 percent," Cohen said.
Bradford made the most of his time off and felt that the things he did while not playing were really going to aide him going into a four-game weekend series in Arizona.
"It wasn't too tough," Bradford said. "Me and the coaches kind of worked together on it and just wanted to get me healthy so that's why I sat out.
"I took some measures. I went and saw some pitches down in the bullpen to make sure I stayed in time and rhythm."
