Mississippi State hopes to draw off of its experience in last year's Southeastern Conference Tournament.
The Bulldogs beat South Carolina 70-59 in the first round of last year's tournament in Nashville, Tenn.
MSU lost in the next round to Tennessee, but the win over the Gamecocks is something the Bulldogs can point to as they enter this year's tournament.
"We looking forward to doing the same thing again," MSU junior guard Trivante Bloodman said. "We just have to go one game at a time."
The No. 14 seed Bulldogs (13-18) play the No. 11 seeded Vanderbilt Commodores (11-19) at approximately 8:30 p.m. tonight in Atlanta inside the Georgia Dome.
The winner will play No. 6 seed Ole Miss on Thursday.
