Yellowjackets get production to beat Bulldogs at home

March 2, 2014

Senior Tanner Clanton started the day for the Starkville Yellowjackets with a first-inning single on Saturday, then 10 more hits followed.
After opening the season with an 11-1 victory over Greenville Weston in six innings Friday night, the Jackets took care of business once again by beating Aberdeen 20-0 in four innings.
Starkville used seven runs in the first inning, seven more in the second and six in the third to put away the visiting Bulldogs.
Clanton said that coach Travis Garner, in his first season with the Jackets, has been working with the team on the hitting aspect and has already noticed a difference.
"We've gotten a lot better, grown together and got a lot of chemistry together," Clanton said. We can hit the ball pretty good and we are hitting this year."
