Jackets are on a roll: SHS team set for state event

February 27, 2014

The Starkville Yellowjackets have completed their practice sessions at Bulldog Lanes for the Mississippi High School Activities Association State Bowling Tournament.
It's now time for SHS team to make the trip to Flowood and take part in another workout at Fannin Lanes, the site of Friday morning's competition. The team leaves Starkville today at 1:30 p.m.
The Jackets and Lady Jackets have used the meets during the season to prepare them for this time of the season.
SHS bowling coach Jim Philamlee was pleased to see his squad finish with the third overall score in the state at regionals with a 3,400, saying that "the North region is very commendable," and is excited about the opportunity the state tournament will bring.
