There was a second meeting of rivals that went into overtime on Sunday.
The last time it happened between the Mississippi State and Ole Miss women, the Rebels claimed the prize.
It was not the case Sunday in Starkville.
In another tightly-contested ballgame, the Bulldogs walked away with a 72-70 victory at Humphrey Coliseum.
“(It was a) heck of a basketball game,” MSU coach Vic Schaefer said. “Give credit to Ole Miss’ kids for coming in here and really not being intimidated, (and) playing extremely hard with a ton of energy. Number one, our crowd is what really got us going. (There was) tremendous energy in the building (Sunday), it was great to be a Bulldog.”
