Starkville Academy's girls see season end

MADISON – A chance to move on to the Mississippi Association of Schools Overall State championship was on the line, but ultimately Starkville Academy's season came to an end with a 51-39 consolation game loss to Jackson Academy.
The Lady Raiders started out strong and enjoyed a 30-17 lead at halftime.
Starkville Academy answered back with a strong defensive effort in the third period closing the 13-point deficit down to four points heading into the final period.
It was not to be for the Lady Vols as Jackson Academy outscored them 16-8 to win. Nora Kathyrn Carroll led SA with 11 points with Sallie Kate Richardson and Anna McKell following with 10 and nine points, respectively.
The Lady Vols saw their final record slip to 27-13.
