BOA fills school board post - Board OKs rezone for new subdivision

February 19, 2014

A pair of votes from Starkville aldermen on Tuesday night named a new Starkville School District board member and ended the decade tenure of another on a technicality.

The board voted 5-0 to appoint Juliette Weaver-Reese to a 5-year term on the SSD board after more than an hour of discussion and public comments on the issue. Her term will begin March 3. Aldermen Jason Walker and Scott Maynard, of Wards 4 and 5 respectively, recused themselves from the room for the vote.
